Shirmar Felongco Bids Farewell to Kaya After 7 Seasons Calinog born and raised, the timeless Noy makes his exit after joining the club in 2016.
Kaya FC-Iloilo would like to announce the departure of Shirmar “Noynoy” Felongco after seven years with the club. The versatile defender fought for the yellow and black through three AFC Cup runs, two Copa Paulino Alcantara titles, and the team’s first ever AFC Champions League campaign.
“Sa mga players, staff, at management; masasabi ko sa ilang years ko na paglaro sa Kaya ay marami akong natutunan on and off the field na hindi ko makakalimutan sa buong buhay ko,” expressed Shirmar. “Salamat dahil sinuportahan nyo ako through the ups and downs, at tinuring nyo akong pamilya.”
Felongco has been a staple of Philippine football for the past decade, coming over to Kaya in 2016—in time for the team’s move to his home province of Iloilo just two years later. A menace at fullback, or in the occasional run in midfield, #27 gave everything he had every time he stepped foot on the pitch.
“I want to express my sincerest gratitude to Noy for his 7 years of dedication to Kaya FC-Iloilo,” noted Kaya President and GM Paul Tolentino. “It’s a very bittersweet sight to see him leave the club at this point in his career, however we want to wish him the best of luck moving forward.”
Tolentino continued, “Noy was a joy to watch on the field as he always relished a battle on the field and treated every match like a warrior. Maraming Salamat Noy! Una Kaya!”
In a parting message to fans, Noy stated, “Sa lahat ng Suporters ng Kaya. Maraming salamat sa patuloy nyong pag suporta. Thank you KAYA FAMILY! 🙌🏾❤️”
