Second Half Surge Propels Kaya to Fourth
Kaya FC remained within striking distance of the League leaders with a 5–1 win over the struggling Green Archers United FC last Sunday in the United Football League at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
It was the first win for Kaya after last week’s loss to Global FC. The LBC-backed squad overtook JP Voltes in fourth place with 12 points.
Kaya went ahead in the 31st minute from an OJ Porteria spot kick. Louis Clark added a second goal right before the hour mark, also from the penalty spot.
Substitute Antonio Ugarte made it 3–0 in the 75th minute. Robert Lopez-Mendy haunted his former team with two more strikes in the 80th and 90th minutes.
Green Archers substitute Paul Salahit netted a consolation in the 84th minute.
