Kaya Kick-starts Summer with GK Concepcion

On April 5, 2014, the Kaya players kicked off the summer season by conducting a football clinic for the kids of GK Concepcion at the Camp. Kaya has always been active in the community and this clinic was one of the club’s ways of reminding and encouraging the kids to get out of the house and stay active this summer.

The clinic started off by dividing the kids into two batches. The younger kids were trained from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. while the rest of the kids were trained from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. It was a fun-filled morning because all the kids got the chance to play and train with their favorite Kaya players. The artificial turf was divided into four parts so that different sets of drills were assigned to each area. Every batch was concluded with a friendly match among the kids and the Kaya players acted as the de facto referees and linesmen.

Kaya wants to be a team that will be an inspiration for generations to come and this also extends to the community. This is not the first time Kaya has worked with Gawad Kalinga and LBC Foundation. This is a continuous activity which the club has been doing. Kaya promotes and sustains interest in the sport through various CSR activities. The younger the child learns to play the sport, the better he or she will be equipped to master the sport technically and tactically. For the year 2014, Kaya commits itself to helping the community in many more ways.
