4 July 2019; Manila, Philippines — Kaya FC–Iloilo’s perfect start to the 2019 Philippines Football League will be put under serious threat in the coming week, as the club prepares to face Green Archers United, Ceres Negros, and Stallion Laguna in quick succession.

“We have three crucial games coming up at the start of July. It’s going to be a real test on whether or not we can continue the streak,” said Iloilo head coach Noel Marcaida on his club’s five-game winning run. “We will prepare in a similar manner to how we prepared in the start of the season. There will be some small adjustments based on our first meeting.”

Kaya kicked off the 2019 PFL season against Green Archers, in a match Iloilo won 4-0. Jordan Mintah scored a hat-trick in the contest, fueling a bright start to the campaign with nine goals in five outings.

“There are tough matches coming our way. We just need to prepare hard and get ready. We need to continue winning. In those three games, we need to win,” he said. “It’s our dream to win the league. We’re always training hard, communicating, listening to what the coaches tell us. If we do these things we can win the league, so we are just continuing to do that.

United are coming from a defeat, but a rather encouraging one — 4-3 against the defending champions. Jimuel Arriola bagged a hat-trick for the Archers, who were not far from splitting the points with the Busmen.

Saturday’s clash will be held in the PFF Pitch in Carmona, and will be aired live on PFLTV.ph.. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30PM.
