Kaya FC–Iloilo Aims to Remain Unbeaten in Iloilo Ahead of JPV Marikina Test Iloilo take on a JPV Marikina side that is fresh from a big win over Ceres Negros in Panaad.
Fresh from a dramatic victory in Manila, Kaya FC–Iloilo return home eager to keep their winning momentum going. Kaya face JPV Marikina on Wednesday afternoon at the Iloilo Sports Complex, with kickoff moved to 3:00pm (from 4:00pm) in order to mitigate the possibility of heavy rains.
With JPV Marikina entering the contest riding high from a 2-0 victory over Ceres Negros at Panaad Stadium, Kaya head coach Noel Marcaida is expecting a difficult test.
“We’re looking forward to defending our home turf again tomorrow. We know that JPV upset Ceres in their last game, so we know they’re playing well, and their morale is high. Likewise, for our team, we were able to get our objective in our last game against Davao, so tomorrow’s game is going to be a tough one,” he said. “It’s going to be a very good fight. We have that unbeaten record here, so we need to protect that, and hopefully we get three points.”
The match will mark the Iloilo return of Alfred Osei and Robert Lopez Mendy, who missed the last two matches at the Iloilo Sports Complex due to suspension.
“It feels great [to be back]. I felt like I was missing out. A month is a really, really long time for me. Playing JPV, they’re a very good side technically, they read the game very well. It’s not going to be an easy game, but we tell the fans to come and support us. One thing we can guarantee for them, we’re going to give them our 100% best — that’s always. We grant them that we will give them our maximum best every time we get an opportunity to play,” said Alfred Osei, scorer of the dramatic late winner against Aguilas over the weekend.
Kaya and JPV have met twice already this season, with Iloilo claiming victories in both matches. Kaya is currently second in the standings with 26 points from 14 outings, while Marikina has amassed 13 points from 15 matches.
Tickets are currently on sale at SM Cinemas via SM Tickets. Tickets can also be purchased at the Iloilo Sports Complex on game day. Prices are at P150 for VIP, and P50 for Grandstand. The match will also be aired live via PFLTV.ph
