Gearing Up for AFC Cup: Kaya, Ceres Put 20 Goals Past Rivals
Ahead of their crucial AFC Cup ties, Kaya FC and Ceres La Salle FC ran riot past their opponents in Wednesday’s United Football League fixtures at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
After losing to Stallion last Sunday, Kaya FC bounced back with a resounding 10-2 win over Forza FC in the afternoon kickoff.
Robert Lopez-Mendy found his scoring boots in the match, scoring four goals including a three-goal romp in the dying minutes of the match. Louis Clark and Kenshiro Daniels added a pair of goals each while newcomers Sean Kane and Eric Giganto registered their first goals for Kaya.
Forza still took pride in the loss. The former second division side shocked Kaya in the first half by scoring twice in a five minute span. Fredy Lope Mbang and Hayato Aoki scored the two goals for Forza.
However, Kaya were a different team in the second half, scoring seven goals to cap off a dominating performance.
